Uniform Policy

The Franklin-McKinley School District believes a safe and disciplined learning environment is the first requirement of a high performing school. School uniforms will help minimize disruptive behavior, promote respect for oneself and others, build school/community spirit, and, more significantly, help to maintain high academic standards. At Kennedy uniform is required and is a must, please see below for Kennedy School uniform options.

 

Pants, shorts:      Black

Skirts, jumpers:   Black

Black leggings can only be worn under skirts and dresses  

No denim/jeans

Size appropriate/fitted

Hemmed properly (no pins, staples)

Shorts hemmed not more than 5 inches above knees

Belt should not be worn below waist

 

Polo Shirt or blouse:    White or Navy Blue

Dress or casual with collar

Short or long sleeves

Turtleneck is acceptable

Must be worn under sweatshirt, jacket or sweater 

*Uniform shirts may be previewed in the Kennedy school office at the end of May.

Sweater, vest, sweatshirt or jacket:   Black

 

Not acceptable:

Oversized or baggy or tight clothes

Shredded or rolled up cuffs

Cutoffs

Cuffs dragging on ground

Windbreaker, work out pants or suits

No corduroys

Tee Shirts

Sport logos or characters on shirts, sweatshirts or pants

Make up

Gang related clothing or articles

Hats indoors

Spandex pants, skirts, shorts or tops

Uniforms pants may be purchased at: JC Penny's, Target, Sears and/or Walmart
